When it comes to the NFL and television, the majority of fans want to know what will happen to NFL Sunday Ticket once the league’s contract with DirecTV expires after the 2022 season. Amazon is now the exclusive home of Thursday Night Football, and Monday night doubleheaders are going to become a thing next season.
Some of the bidders for it include Apple, Amazon, and Disney.
According to the New York Times, Google has made a bid for the out-of-market service and games would be streamed through YouTube, which is owned by Google.
NFL media executive Brian Rolapp told the Times that the league expects to finalize a Sunday Ticket arrangement for 2023 and beyond “in the coming months.”
“A number of companies are in strong position to potentially land Sunday Ticket, but we still have a ways to go in this process,” Rolapp told the Times in a written statement.
It was reported earlier this month that Apple was the “most likely” entity to acquire Sunday Ticket for a price potentially as much as $3 billion.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell provided a tiny update on the matter earlier this month as well.
“I clearly believe we’ll be moving to a streaming service,” said Goodell. “I think that’s what’s best for the consumers.”
Goodell also revealed that a decision on what will happen with Sunday Ticket will probably be announced this fall.
