Las Vegas sports books are preparing for the retirement of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
According to Bill Huber of SI.com, several sports books believe the disgruntled Green Bay Packers QB will announce his retirement before Green Bay’s first practice on Wednesday.
Huber added that Westgate SuperBook recently closed projected wins, playoff odds, divisional odds and weekly lines for all four NFC North teams. According to Pro Football Talk, PointsBet sports book and DraftKings have removed Green Bay from the list of 32 teams where you can make over-under win total bets.
Rodgers has not been on board with Green Bay’s management team since the Packers selected Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 draft to be his eventual replacement. He is still under contract in Green Bay through 2023 and could be fined $50,000 each day he doesn’t report to training camp. If Rodgers retires, he won’t owe that money, but he would forfeit a $6.8 million roster bonus
Rodgers became the third player in NFL history to lead the league in passing touchdowns while throwing the fewest interceptions. He had a league-leading 48 touchdown passes and just five interceptions while leading the Packers to an NFC-best 13-3 record.
