The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly named their price for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
The star pass catcher is looking for a lucrative contract extension, which the Niners have held back on so far, and has hinted that he wants out on multiple occasions since the Super Bowl in February.
Team GM John Lynch has been insistent on keeping Aiyuk around. He said on Monday that he “wouldn’t anticipate” trading the player. However, the San Francisco Chronicle reports that a move cannot be ruled out and that “anything’s possible.”
The NFC side is understood to be looking for a first-round pick for their top wide receiver, but an unnamed team executive has told the publication’s Michael Silver, “They want too much.” Another GM reckons the Niners could ultimately accept a second-round pick.
Silver writes: “All I know is that as of Monday night, when I posed the question to a 49ers source with direct knowledge of the team’s plans, the words I kept hearing were, “Anything’s possible.” Earlier, I spoke to another team’s general manager who insisted that, because the 49ers and Aiyuk are far apart on negotiations for a lucrative contract extension, the fifth-year receiver is “very much in play.”

Brandon Aiyuk Is Coming Off A Career Year
Aiyuk had a career year with San Francisco in 2023, catching 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns en route to a Super Bowl appearance. He was second in the NFL in yards per reception, with 17.9, and also registered seven outings in which he logged 100 or more yards, the most by any 49ers player since Jerry Rice in 1995.
Aiyuk is under contract with the team for one more season but is looking for a significant extension. As to whether he’ll get it or not is up in the air at the moment, but things could possibly speed up ahead of Thursday’s NFL Draft.
