Early Monday morning, the Washington Redskins finally decided to part ways with head coach Jay Gruden after their latest loss to the New England Patriots that dropped the team to 0-5.
As the Washington Redskins search for a new head coach, owner Daniel Snyder reportedly has eyes on several candidates that include Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added that Redskins’ current offensive coordinator, Kevin O’Connell, might also receive some consideration for the job.
Tomlin being added to this list is because the Steelers signed him to a 1-year extension over the summer that will keep him under contract through the 2021 season.
