In 2019, the Washington Redskins selected quarterback Dwayne Haskins with the 15th overall pick in 2019, but it seems like they might be back in the market for yet another signal caller after just one season.
According to NFL Network’s Michael Silver, it’s reportedly still a “very real possibility” they take another QB at No. 2 in the 2020 NFL draft, especially if Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa gets the thumbs up from the medical department.
Head coach Rivera told the media at the combine that the Redskins are considering everything at No. 2.
“Before we do anything with the number two pick, we’ve got to see what happens with the number one pick,” Rivera said. “So once that pick goes on, then we’ll go from there.”
“Everything’s an option,” he added. “We’re not closing the door on anything. One of the things that (VP, Player Personnel) Kyle (Smith) and I talked about is that we have to go through this process because you don’t know what’s going to happen in front of you and we don’t know what’s going to happen with you. So we’re going to go through and Tua is one of the guys that we’re bringing in, just so everybody knows. We’re bringing in (Joe) Burrow and were bringing in Tua. And we will see both of their workouts. That’s just the way it is.”
Even ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. stated the franchise should draft Tagovailoa:

“If you look at Tua, if the medical staff clears him — and this is the leap of faith you have to take. The medical staff is gonna be key to this, more so than the scouts and the evaluators. They’re the key. If they sign off, you take Tua at two. There’s no doubt about that. You take Tua,” Kiper said. “You don’t trade the pick, you don’t take Chase Young, you take Tua.”
