One new Philadelphia Eagles player is admirably going to incredible lengths to try and lock down a spot on their final 53-man roster.
The Philadelphia Eagles opened the 2024 training camp at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesday. The NFC East club is looking to bounce back after a massively disappointing 2023 season culminating with a blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Super Wild Card Weekend.
Philly brought in plenty of new faces to help their Super Bowl 59 quest, including former New York Jets first-round pick Mekhi Becton. And let’s just say that Becton is very determined to land a spot on their roster.
According to a report from Jimmy Kempski of the Philly Voice, Becton was the first Eagles player to puke at training camp. Kempski says he “counted 10 heaves” from Bekton, and that the veteran offensive lineman returned “a play or 2 later.”
After a disappointing four-year tenure with the Jets, Becton is looking to revive his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, who selected him 11th overall in 2020. After a promising rookie year, Becton was limited to one game over the next two years because of multiple knee injuries.

He endured a tough 2023 campaign with the Jets, who decided to part ways after the season. Instead of bringing back Becton, New York rebuilt their o-line by bringing in veterans Morgan Moses, Tyron Smith and John Simpson before using their first-round pick on Olu Fashanu.
The Eagles will open their 2024 season against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 6 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Philadelphia Eagles Can Revive Mekhi Becton’s Career
Fewer teams have done a better job developing stud offensive linemen over the past decade than the Eagles. Jason Kelce, Jason Peters, Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson headline a group of offensive linemen who enjoyed great success in the trenches.
With Johnson, Mailata and Cam Jurgens leading the way on the o-line, Becton is in a good position to revive his NFL career.
