Before the Houston Texans can trade three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson, he first must clear up some of his legal woes.
Watson would help numeorus teams, most notably, the the Philadelphia Eagles in more ways than Jalen Hurts ever would. Speaking of the Eagles, the NFC East is apparently doing their due-diligence on the situation.
According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman sent an investigator to Houston to look into the situation. Despite their actions, recent reports have suggested that the Eagles won’t be making a deal for Watson – regardless of what they found.
Even if they were interested, Watson reportedly wouldn’t waive his no-trade clause to play for them anyway.
The 26-year-old Houston Texans QB hasn’t played since Jan. 3, 2021 as he faces dozens of sexual assault and harassment allegations.
Watson has proven himself to be a tremendously talented quarterback on the field, but teams remain hesitant to surrender anything of value for the QB as his case works its way through the legal system – not to mention the message trading for someone like Watson sends to your fanbase.
