The New England Patriots knew Antonio Brown had his fair share of troubles, which is what got him off the Oakland Raiders roster and onto their roster. But, if the team had known he was facing a sexual assault lawsuit, the team would’ve never signed him to begin with.
Brown and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, failed to disclose the the sexual assault allegations, but it was later reported that they were in private discussions with the woman in question, and the info only came out because Brown reportedly declined to sign off on a $2 million settlement.
Brown’s former trainer Britney Taylor filed a civil lawsuit last Tuesday that accused him of sexually assaulting her in 3 separate instances. The news came out the day after the team signed him.
Taylor is scheduled to meet with NFL officials Monday.
It’s hard to imagine the Patriots’ front office would be happy with Brown keeping the allegations under wrap, as this team has to deal with a profound controversy surrounding former tight end Aaron Hernandez.
