The 2018 season was a tough one for the New York Giants as they had a terrible year on the field, but also came close to trading away star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
There’s a bunch of teams likely interested in the all-pro wide receiver, but there was a Super Bowl contender who came to be one of the most willing to take him on.
Chris Simms of Bleacher Report said on Monday that he was told by multiple sources that the New England Patriots were “most aggressive” in pursuing Beckham in 2018.
Simms stated the Giants got cold feet when one of the most respected organizations in all of football wanted Beckham’s services. With Eli Manning getting ready to possibly call it a career after 2019 and with no QB ready to take over the reigns of the franchise, trading OBJ seems like the most logical thing the Giants can do if they are going to go into full rebuild mode.
