When the name Jimmy Graham came up in football conversations, he was seen as one of the best tight ends in all of football. That was when he was a member of the New Orleans Saints and he was hauling in 80+ catches a year and 46 touchdowns in his last 4 years there.
Since then, he’s moved on the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers where he’s hauled in no more than 65 catches and 20 total touchdowns in the 4 years since he’s been gone from New Orleans.
Last offseason, the packers signed him to a 3-year, $30 million deal, and although he had a solid year, there are rumors that he could be on his way out after just one season, according to Green Bay Press-Gazette writer Pete Dougherty.
I don’t know if they’ll ask Graham to take a pay cut, or whether he would, but how can they justify paying him $9M in salary and bonuses next season? He’s just not dynamic enough. I’d move on and start over at that position if I were them. If they cut Graham they save $5.3M on the cap…
It’s safe to say that Graham should’ve kept his talents in New Orleans with Drew Brees as his quarterback.
