Odell Beckham Jr. is making it very clear that if your team sucks, do not claim him on off waivers, because he will destroy your locker room.
Instead of trying to repair his image, it seems Odell Beckham Jr. is doubling down on being a problem unless he is put in the perfect situation going forward.
Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that Odell wants to play for a “playoff contender” and in a “winning environment” for the rest of the season. That is perfectly fine, until you read the next part.
“If a team that does not fit this criteria claims Beckham and the $7.25 million remaining on his contract, there could be potential issues for that team, according to a source, although it is unclear exactly what those issues would be.”
So basically, Odell is ready and willing to throw a complete hissy fit if a losing team even thinks about snatching him up for their terrible squad. Beckham has already burned bridges in New York, and made sure to blow up every single one in Cleveland before making his exit. It appears he does not care about burning even more.
Let’s just say he gets on a contending team, and he still doesn’t get the catches he wants…Why would the contending team think he wouldn’t throw a hissy fit still?

Beckham, who would clear waivers on Tuesday if he isn’t claimed, is likely to have a deal in place with another team next week, per Schefter. The Browns reworked his contract before waiving him, making him scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in 2022.
In 2021, Beckham has appeared in six games for the Browns and caught 17 of 34 targets for 232 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
