It’s been a long, intense process, but it appears as though the NFL’s investigation into Deshaun Watson’s sexual misconduct claims has finally been completed.
According to several reports, the league has finished investigating all 24 claims that have been made against the Cleveland Browns quarterback. In addition to questioning his accusers (at least those who were willing to take part in the investigation), it’s also believed that Watson himself was subjected to multiple hours of questioning from former sexual assault prosecutors.
It will now be up to an independent arbitrator to decide whether or not Watson should be suspended. If they feel the former Texans quarterback deserves a suspension, the NFL will have final say regarding the length of the punishment. However, should the arbitrator decide against a suspension, that decision would be final and Watson would be eligible to play for the Browns in week 1 of the upcoming 2022 season.
Watson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin, has been critical of the fact that his team has not been able to cross-examine the accusers during this investigation process. He has also suggested that there’s a “good possibility” that the NFL makes a decision that his client won’t like.

If all of these sources are correct, it sounds like we should be hearing about a lengthy Deshaun Watson suspension in the very near future.
