Some NFL teams are completely “outraged” over the league’s punishment decisions regarding Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ COVID-19 violations, per Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
“As one source put it on Tuesday night, “That’s bulls***.” If, for example, someone engages in shoplifting twice a week every week for eight weeks, the person has committed 16 violations of the shoplifting laws. There should be 16 penalties.”
Rodgers, who is unvaccinated, was fined $14,650 for attending a Halloween party outside the team facility. The same amount was fined for unvaccinated teammate and wideout Allen Lazard.
As a whole, the Packers were fined $300,000 for failing to penalize both players for attending the party.
“As both are unvaccinated, they are prohibited from attending gatherings outside team facilities,” Grant Gordon of NFL.com wrote.
“Per the NFL/NFLPA protocol guidelines, gathering outside of the club facility in a group of more than three players is subject to a $14,650 fine.”
The QB’s unvaccinated status become public earlier in November when he tested positive for COVID-19. Rodgers then went on “The Pat McAfee Show” and elaborated on why he isn’t vaccinated while stating he took ivermectin, a drug used to treat or prevent parasites in animals and one that the FDA has said not to use to fight COVID.

Rodgers was placed on Green Bay’s reserve COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus and missed the Packers’ game against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Rodgers said the main reason he did not get the vaccine is because he is allergic to an ingredient in the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines. He noted that he did not want Johnson & Johnson, because he did not like the side effects that come with it.
Rodgers should be available to play in their game against the Seattle Seahawks.
