REPORT: NFL Plans To Add 17th Game For 2021 Season

The NFL is going to expand the schedule by a week in 2021.

The NFL has been working toward adding a 17th game to the regular season schedule, and now it appears it might be happening. Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero are reporting the league is planning it for 2021, but an announcement might not come for several months. The NFL reportedly has to negotiate a new media contract to make room for the 17th game.

The Super Bowl will be pushed back to the second week in February to accommodate.
