The Kansas City Chiefs are, without a doubt, the best team in the NFL. The team was 9-0 before suffering their first loss of the 2024 NFL season at the hands of Buffalo Bills, yet they remain atop the league.
The Chiefs also have two of the best players in the NFL, and some would argue that their quarterback is the best in the league. Travis Kelce may be struggling a little this season, but he is still considered the best in the NFL, and Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes.
Obviously, it’s not expected that these two would be the target of organized crime. However, the NFL released a statement saying that Kelce and Mahomes’ home burglaries reported earlier this month may be connected.
According to Tom Pelissero on X, “The NFL issued a security alert Wednesday about organized and skilled criminals,” adding that the crimes targeting Chiefs’ stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce may be related.

Kansas City Chiefs’ Star’s Burglaries May Be Connected To A Crime Syndicate
Pelissero added that the crimes are “believed to be tied to a South American crime syndicate” and that they “are targeting pro athletes.” While nothing has been confirmed, this could be a scary time for some superstar athletes.

In the article he posted to NFL.com, Pelissero said that the “FBI is investigating the crime wave as international organized crime,” and it’s unclear whether the crime syndicate has determined a new target yet.
“It’s a transnational crime ring, and over the last three weeks, they’ve focused on NBA and NFL players, and it’s all over the country,” an inside source told Pelissero. After the news of the burglaries, odds are we will see security ramping up at these players’ homes.
The crimes do not seem violent as of yet, and we can only hope for the safety of our favorite NBA and NFL athletes.
