On Thursday, the NFL announced that they currently have no plans to delay the start of the league year. However, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, stated that might soon change.
“Per a league source, the NFL currently is contemplating the possibility of announcing on Sunday a delay in the start of free agency. The league wants to wait until after voting on the CBA closes before making a final decision, in order to prevent further delays to the CBA voting process.”
Many have questioned whether the league should start free agency during a time where just about every major sports league has announced delays or outright cancellations due to the spread of COVID-19.
Just about every team in the NFL has announced that they’re closing facilities and instructing employees to work from home.
The NFL Draft is likely to be affected in a huge way as it makes it way to Las Vegas this year.
