The New York Jets may not be one of the best teams in the NFL, but they are certainly one of the most popular, especially now that Devante Adams is in the fold. While Adams may be a good thing for the Jets, it may not be as such for former WR1 Garrett Wilson.
There was tons of speculation in Sin City before the Adams trade. Raiders head coach Antonio Pearce commented that “players made business decisions” and then tweeted that Adams played his last game in Vegas.
Of course, as we all know, Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round pick so he could reunite with his former quarterback from Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers. Now, the move is causing speculation about Jets pass catcher Garrett Wilson.
According to ESPN, some NFL teams have reached out about the availability of the 2022 tenth-overall pick but were shut down by the Jets. It is understandable why teams would reach out. However, it seems like the Jets want to enjoy the luxury of their receiver room right now.

Garrett Wilson has been a solid contributor to the Jets’ receiving corps until now in his NFL career. The 24-year-old hit the 1000-receiving-yard mark in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons while reaching the endzone a combined seven times.
Before his trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, Davante Adams put up some solid numbers on a struggling team. The veteran hit over 1500 yards with his college quarterback Derek Carr throwing him the ball in 2022; however, after Carr departed from Vegas, Adams became disgruntled.

Adams would still put up over 1100 yards in 2023, but there were continued rumors that he would be leaving Vegas until it finally came true this season. Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams are set to suit up for the same team once again when Adams makes his Jets debut in week seven against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wilson will evidently also be in the lineup.
