Aaron Rodgers is considered one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks, and he has done nothing but prove that sentiment right. The 40-year-old signal caller already has a stacked resume, including four NFL MVP Awards and a Super Bowl championship.
However, it should be noted that Father Time is undefeated, especially after NFL fans witnessed the retirement of the greatest quarterback in the game, Tom Brady, just before 2023. This means it could happen to the Jets quarterback. Rodgers’s age of 40 also creates a more considerable risk for injuries and rehab.
It seems as though the New York Jets have already taken this into account after last season’s disappointing record, during which the four-time NFL MVP was lost to injury for the entire season, and Dallas Cowboys fans won’t be happy with the idea.
According to Lou Scataglia of NFL Spin Zone, the Jets, if they decide to move on from the controversial Rodgers in 2025 Free Agency, should target Dallas Cowboys starter Dak Prescott, who has notably been involved in trade talks due to the significant contract extension he is due before 2025.

Will The New York Jets Move On From Aaron Rodgers In 2025?
While it is improbable for the team to cut their Super Bowl-winning signal caller, there are some suggested scenarios where it could happen, and if it does, there will be a lot more at stake than just Aaron Rodgers.
Unfortunately, for the team to cut Rodgers straight up in 2025, they would have to take on a whopping $49 million in dead cap money, which would hamper the team in 2025 and most likely remove Prescott from the equation.

Thinking logistically about the scenario, the Jets would have to have a horrible season to cause the front office to fire head coach Adam Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas and cut Aaron Rodgers, warranting a completely new team for 2025.
Crazier things have happened in the NFL, and it would be quite an exciting off-season if the Jets were to miss the playoffs with Rodgers and company once again. However, NFL fans are just going to have to wait and see as the 2024 season kicks off in September.
