According to Jason La Canfora, a number of Texans players expressed their displeasure with the team’s reported interest in S Earl Thomas last week.
The multiple negative reactions ultimately convinced head coach Bill O’Brien to cancel Thomas’ visit and not to sign the veteran, per La Canfora.
“The Texans and Ravens played in Week 2, and sources said that several Texans players were well aware of Thomas’s behavior as the topic came up during warmups and pregame banter.”
Thomas’ reputation in the locker room appears to be the sole reason why a player of his caliber has not been signed after the Ravens released him from the roster.
Thomas was released by the Ravens before the season in part because of a fight he had with a teammate during practice, but then more information came out that it was a combination of things that resulted in him being released.
If not for the incidents in Baltimore and Seattle, Thomas would almost certainly be signed by now.
