The 2019 season was an important one for Derek Carr on his future with the Raiders and whether he would be following the team to Las Vegas and into their brand new stadium.
It’s becoming increasingly likely that he won’t be on the roster in 2020, and if that it is so, there are reportedly multiple teams already preparing to make a run at acquiring him.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vincent Bonsignore, multiple NFL teams will head to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine with interest in trading for the 28-year-old.
$2.9 million of Carr’s $18.9 million 2020 base salary became guaranteed on Feb. 5. “The remaining $16 million is not guaranteed, which is a large part of the reason why there has been so much speculation over Carr’s future,” The Athletic’s Tafur wrote.
The Raiders have been linked to Tom Brady over the past several weeks, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter throwing more gasoline on those flames when he stated the Raiders are “poised to pursue” the five-time Super Bowl champion if he doesn’t reach a new deal with the New England Patriots before free agency begins on March 18.

Carr tossed for 4,054 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions on a career-high 70.4 completion percentage, but the team finished 7-9 and missed the postseason again.
