With so many teams desperate to have a QB in the National Football League, Derek Carr is starting to hear his name a lot in talks about a potential trade.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, multiple teams have expressed interest in Carr.
“As teams continue to look for QB’s, multiple teams have expressed interest in Raiders QB Derek Carr. Not a surprise at all, it’s that time of year. Expect the interest to continue to heat up as long as Carr’s contract situation remains as is.”
Last month, Ian Rapoport reported that the Raiders plan to move forward with Carr as the starting quarterback and will begin talks on an extension. Carr is entering the final year of his five-year, $125 million contract with the Raiders.
Rapoport added Carr has earned a near-top of market extension based on his recent play, with perhaps a shorter-term deal making sense.
The 30-year-old appeared in 17 games for the Raiders last season and passed for 4,804 yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also rushed for 108 yards.
