Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross had a mega offer on the table for control of the franchise, Hard Rock Stadium, and the Formula One Miami Grand Prix, but he ultimately decided to turn it down, according to USA Today.
An unnamed buyer offered Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross $10 billion for controlling interest in the Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, and Miami’s Formula One race, but he turned it down.
If accepted, the 83-year-old would’ve set an NFL record, surpassing the Washington Commanders’ $6 billion sale in July 2023.
Per Safid Deen of USA Today, citing two people familiar with the matter, “Ross declined the offer because he wants to keep the assets in his family.”
The approval of 24 NFL owners would be required for any sale agreement. This offer’s maker has yet to be discovered. Given that the NFL required extensive due diligence before approving a convoluted Harris ownership proposal for the Commanders, the Miami Dolphins’ proposal’s structure would be crucial.
The Miami Dolphins have finished 116-127 and have qualified for three postseasons in 15 seasons under Ross’s direction.
