The Atlanta Falcons have emerged as a serious suitor for Deshaun Watson, and many are expecting a deal to happen quite soon.
On Thursday , ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler gave an update on Watson’s interest in Atlanta. Watson reportedly “felt the love” when it came to Atlanta’s plan and recruitment.
“After asking around, feeling is Falcons have stood strong in Deshaun Watson process and Watson has felt the love as far as the team’s plan and recruitment, with many people reaching out,” Fowler wrote. “Falcons can load up in 2023 w/ ample cap space. Short term, can add FA WRs and RBs pieces.”
Watson must waive his no-trade clause to be moved from the Houston Texans and the embattled All-Pro quarterback is reportedly down to the Saints and Falcons for his services, according to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson. Having not suited up for the Houston Texans for a single snap last season, Watson is eager to find a new NFL home.
“Saints have been characterized as a leader for Watson. Maintained dialogue since first meeting,” Wilson tweeted this week.
It’s all coming to a climactic end, and one of these teams will soon celebrate a new franchise QB while the others are left to do a lot of explaining to their current QB on the roster is not going to be happy with the process of their squad looking to replace them.

If the Falcons are indeed the trade partner for Watson, it would bring the end of a memorable era behind quarterback Matt Ryan.
