Joe Burrow led the Cincinnati Bengals to a much-needed win against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, but he flew back to Ohio to some disappointing news.
The quarterback’s home was reportedly burglarized while he was in Dallas for the Monday Night Football fixture, which suggests the NFL’s intel was correct following the league’s memo to players.
According to Karin Johnson of WLWT, police received a call from a woman informing them that Burrow’s Cincinnati-area residence was being broken into.
“Someone is trying to break into the house right now. My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house,” the woman is reported to have told 911 dispatch. “She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding or if she should go outside.”
Another woman on a different call told the police, “Someone broke into my house … It’s like completely messed up.”
Johnson also noted that a window at Burrow’s house was found broken, with one of the bedrooms therein ransacked, although there was an officer on detail at his house at the time.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office did not respond to TMZ’s request for comment immediately.
This comes just a few weeks after the NFL sent out a circular warning players to ramp up security at their houses as they had received information on a highly skilled group of thieves targeting the homes of professional athletes.

The warning followed break-ins at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, which were serious enough to warrant FBI involvement.
