This time a year ago, the Houston Texans had Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, and JJ Watt on the team.
2 or 3 months from now, neither of those players could be on the team anymore as Hopkins was already sent packing before the 2020 season.
Along with the strong noise on Deshaun Watson possibly wanting out, there is now a credible report saying “the Texans are leaning toward accommodating J.J. Watt” and that “he’ll likely be moved.”
Watt’s six-year, $100 million contract, which he signed in 2014, expires after the 2021 season. He’s due a non-guaranteed $17.5 million base salary, meaning Houston could cut him without paying him anything.
The Houston Texans are now looking at a full rebuild ever since they failed to fire Bill O’Brien before he traded away their star wide receiver.
What a complete and utter failure.
