Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Jets…
The New York Jets are set to prepare fir life without Sam Darnold as he is expected to miss between 3-7 weeks following his mononucleosis diagnosis last week.
As of right now, there is no set return date because it’s unknown how quickly his body will recover and how long fatigue will be a factor.
Darnold has been quarantined away from the team, as mono is highly contagious. The disease can lead to numerous issues such as, swelling of major organs that can cause rupturing when playing a contact sport. Weight loss is also another concern because eating normally becomes difficult due to swollen glands, a sore throat and loss of appetite.
Trevor Siemian is likely to be the Jets starting quarterback deep into October.
