The Jacksonville Jaguars will be pulling off a very interesting promotion for their game against the Browns on Sunday. The team will change its stadium name from EverBank Stadium to TrEverBank Stadium to honor Trevor Lawrence.
According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, Jaguars team employees have already started putting up new signage around the stadium to prepare.
“I don’t like having too much of the spotlight with stuff like that, but I think it was clever,” Lawrence said. “They have the naming rights for the stadium, so it’s a good play on words, and I was fine with it.”
It will certainly be one of the most unique ways a team has marketed its franchise player. It’s also worth noting that EverBank decided to change the name, as they have the naming rights to the stadium.

Lawrence has also collaborated with the financial service company based in Jacksonville. Some ads he previously filmed with the company tease the TrEverBank logo.

“It’s a pretty cool spot,” Lawrence said. “The commercials are going to be pretty funny, and they did a good job with it.”
This could park a lot of creative ideas for other NFL teams going forward.
Trevor Lawrence And Jaguars Are Coming Off A Week 1 Loss
In Week 1, the Jaguars lost a heartbreaker at the last second to the Miami Dolphins on a walk-off field goal.
In what was a pretty defensive game, Lawrence played a pretty solid game, completing 12 of 21 passes for 162 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. His passer rating came out to 97.7.
Now, the team will look to bounce back against a Browns team that got demolished 17-33 against the Dallas Cowboys.
