Well, this is just unexpected.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network dropped some damning news on Saturday that J.J. Watt is expected to be back at practice in the near future.
Should Houston lock up a playoff spot this weekend, Rapoport says Watt could return to practice next week and could return for the first week of the playoffs, and that’s assuming the team defeats the Tampa Bay Bucs on Saturday.
Earier this year, Watt was placed on injured reserve with a torn pectoral and it was originally thought his season was completely over with. However, his rehab and health has gotten better and better and he’s gotten to the point where he can return to the field and help a Texans team that could drastically use a pass rush.
The 30-year-old has appeared in eight games in 2019 and recorded 24 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble, two recoveries and two pass defenses.
