On Tuesday, it was announced that star wide receiver Davante Adams requested a trade from the Raiders. Of course, when a player like Adams makes his way to the trade block, a lot of teams are going to check in on him.
The latest team looking to join the sweepstakes is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have long been looking for a bonified WR1. The same report also claims that the Dallas Cowboys are one team uninterested in a trade.
It makes sense for Dallas to stay out after paying Ceedee Lamb a massive new four-year $136 million deal. It would be too much money in the receiver room to add Adam’s five-year $140 million contract.
For the Steelers, though, it’s the perfect rebound after the team tried so hard to land Brandon Aiyuk from the 49ers before ultimately failing.
As of now, third-year receiver George Pickens is the highest man on the depth chart, and at just 23 years old, that’s a lot of responsibility.

Adams would add a great mix of veteran leadership and skill to the group as he enters his eleventh season.
According to Spotrac, Pittsburgh also has the fifteenth most cap room in the NFL at $13.7 million.
Davante Adams Is Still Producing Great Numbers
Usually, the shelf life of a wide receiver doesn’t last very long once they get into their thirties. However, that’s not the case for Adams.
He has recorded a 1,000-yard season in five of the last six years and just led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in 2022 with 14.
Adams has the chance to stay great for a long time as he relies on his amazing route running rather than just pure strength and speed.
Whatever team does land him should be able to enjoy him until his contract ends after the 2026 season.
