Everyone knows just how much it costs companies to air a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl each year.
Per USA Today, a 30-second ad for the first-ever Super Bowl back in 1967 cost “only” $37,500 (roughly $339,000 in 2024 dollars). Fast forward 57 years later? That price has skyrocketed to $7 million.
And the actual cost of airing a 30-second Super Bowl commercial doesn’t even factor in what companies have to pay A-lister celebrities to take center stage in their TV advertisements.
According to a report from CNN, many celebrities earn lucrative eight-figure payments to appear in a 30-second Super Bowl commercial. Last year, Ben Affleck received $10 million for his Dunkin’ Donuts commercial.
“Curb Your Enthusiasm” star and “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David also made $10 million for his 2022 FTX commercial, CNN’s report added.
If you’ve seen the teasers, you know that Arnold Schwarzenegger (State Farm), David Beckham, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer (Uber Eats), Post Malone (Bud Light), Kris Jenner (Oreos) and Kevin Hart (DraftKings) are just some of the may top celebrities who take center stage in Super Bowl 58 commercials.
