It’s going to be weird watching the NFL next year, and not seeing Bill Belichick head-coaching the New England Patriots. In fact, Bill Belichick won’t be seen on any sideline as he was not hired during the offseason.
For, the former New England Patriots head coach is going viral after he reportedly tried to motivate his players by telling them a story about legendary golfer Tiger Woods.
Unfortunately for him, it backfired terribly for him.
On an episode of the “Let’s Go” Podcast with Jim Gray and Tom Brady, Julian Edelman recalled that Bill Belichick tried a motivation tactic that didn’t exactly go Belichick’s way, to the point that receiver Randy Moss took the chance to have some fun with the New England head coach.
“(Belichick) laid out an hour-long presentation on why Tiger Woods is Tigers (expletive) Woods,” Edelman shared, via NESN.com. “(He said), ‘You guys are out in Vegas in the offseason. This guy is out hitting his seven iron. He’s at the green putting.’”
During the time between the meeting and the next phase of practice, Woods was actually enthralled in a major scandal.
“And like three weeks later,” Edelman continued, “the whole Tiger saga came out, right? Three weeks later.”

This particular scandal had to have been the Thanksgiving incident of 2009 which eventually led to Woods’ various infidelities becoming public knowledge. It was simply poor timing from Bill Belichick and Moss made sure he knew about it in a way only Moss could.
“As soon as it came out, we’re in stretch lines and Bill’s walking around and he’s got his little whistle and his doing his little whistle twirl. And all of a sudden you hear out of left field ‘AYE BILL!,” said Edelman, mimicking Moss. “‘AYE BILLLLL!!’ You see Belichick and he just shakes his head, he knew exactly what [was coming]. ‘HOW ‘BOUT TIGER F—ING WOODS?!?!?'”
“Belichick got Moss’d,” Gray said.
New England Patriots Almost Made History With Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and Randy Moss
The 2007 New England Patriots were the first NFL team to achieve a perfect 16-0 regular season record and seemed destined to go down as the greatest team ever with Bill Belichick leading the way, Tom Brady behind center, and Randy Moss scaring the hell out of defenses.
However, it was not meant to be as they had a stunning defeat in Super Bowl XLII at the hands of Eli Manning and the New York Giants.
Tom Brady and the Patriots would go on to lose another Super Bowl to the Giants but he walked away with seven rings, six alongside Bill Belichick and the Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Bucs.
