Deshaun Watson may think he might be playing hardball with the Texans, but the franchise is seemingly ready to take it a step further.
ESPN insider Dianna Russini dropped news on Thursday that the Texans are actively refusing to trade Watson this offseason, despite his trade demand.
“Houston continues to avoid conversations with teams in regards to trading Deshaun Watson per sources,” Russini tweeted. “They are refusing to trade their franchise QB.”
The NFL Draft is in April and if the team is truly serious about not dealing Watson, then things will only get crazier as we get closer and closer to the 2021 season.
Despite the team dealing standout WR DeAndre Hopkins — Watson tallied his best statistical year this season, throwing for 4,823 and 33 touchdowns.
The 2020 season was a chaotic one for the Texans, who finished last in the AFC South at 4–12.
