Rey Maualuga is reportedly facing up to 10 years in prison after a drunk driving crash in Kentucky earlier this year.
The former USC Trojans star and NFL second-round pick, who had been arrested twice previously for DUI, is facing two felonies and one misdemeanor, according to TMZSports.
Police arrested Mauluga Aug. 11th after he drove through several mailboxes inside of a residential area. Authorities told TMZ Maualuga was “sweating profusely” before he was take into custody.
Maualuga has been on the wrong side of the law before as he was booked back in 2020 on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. In 2010, Maualuga was arrested on drunk driving charges after crashing into a parking meter and two parked cars. His blood alcohol level was .157.
“I will learn from this and become a better person and a better man from all this,” Maualuga said. “And I will assure you that this will never happen again.”
That was a lie.
