Former NFL defensive lineman Daniel Muir is under the radar as Indiana State Police are asking for help to locate his 14-year-old son after the boy’s grandmother alleged his father gave him a black eye and split lip.
14-year-old Bryson Muir was reportedly picked up by his parents from a relative’s home near Cleveland on June 16th. However, he was not in the vehicle when police pulled their car over shortly afterward.
Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the Cass County Department of Child Services have yet to locate the young boy.
Indiana State Police released a statement.
“While the Muirs are beginning to show signs of cooperation, Bryson has still not been seen or located by investigators from either ISP or DCS,” they said.
Things got bad after police stated in a news release it was contacted by the Cass County Department of Child Services for assistance in investigating allegations of domestic battery.
Kristen Muir’s mother, Cheryl Wright, informed WTHR of Indianapolis that it was from her home. Bryson was last seen leaving, and she told police she saw her grandson with a black eye, a fat lip, and a swollen face.

“He just said that his dad did it, but he wasn’t angry, but he wasn’t angry at his father,” Wright said. “He told me that he deserved it, and it was OK. So I told him that it wasn’t and that nobody should beat their children like that, not if they love them.”
Kristen and Daniel Muir initially cooperated with authorities but suddenly backed out of an agreement to bring Bryson to meet with investigators.
Bryson Muir was last seen wearing an orange Under Armour shirt and blue jeans. He would not be hard to spot as he is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds.
