A disturbing report surfaced this Thursday involving a former NFL cornerback. Captain Munnerlyn is being accused of assaulting and strangling a woman.
According to the arrest warrants, the 33-year-old was arrested on Jan. 10 and has been charged with assaulting a female and assault by strangulation. The victim reportedly had difficulty breathing, bruises and scratches after she was allegedly strangled by Munnerlyn.
According to WSOC-TV, Munnerlyn has already gotten out of jail after posting $7,500 bond.
Munnerlyn played football for the University of South Carolina before being drafted to the Carolina Panthers. He played for the Panthers from 2009-2013, but would return in 2017. He would be released in 2019, two years into his 4-year $21 million contract.
Munnerlyn also had a three-year stint with the Minnesota Vikings.
He finished his career with 529 combined tackles, 64 pass breakups, 12 interceptions, 10 sacks and six forced fumbles.
