On Friday, the Dallas Cowboys officially placed star running back Ezekiel Elliott on the did not report list. That basically means he’s an official holdout from the team’s training camp as he looks to get the massive contract that he wants.
NFL Media’s Jane Slater dropped some damning news on Saturday that stated the Cowboys had actually sent a contract offer to Zeke, but he nor his reps have responded back to it.
The first offer and counter-offer are placed to basically set the parameters and to see if both sides can meet somewhere in the middle from what the team wants to pay to what the athlete wants to make, especially on the guaranteed dollars, which is the only thing that matters with NFL contracts.
The 24-year-old led the NFL in rush attempts (304), rushing yards (1,434) and touches (381) while putting up north of 2,000 total yards during the 2018 season.
