A quarterback-needy NFC team will have to pay a hefty price if they’re to trade up for LSU superstar and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels in the 2024 NFL Draft.
There has been plenty of speculation that the Vikings could try to move up and select a quarterback in the first round of this year’s draft. Minnesota currently holds the 11th overall selection.
According to a report from Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Vikings would have to surrender a whopping three first-round picks to move into the No. 3 spot (currently occupied by the New England Patriots) to land Daniels:
“If the Vikings want to move up from their No. 11 spot in April’s NFL draft to No. 3 to take LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, it would cost them first-round draft picks in 2024, 2025 and 2026.”
Vikings starting quarterback Kirk Cousins is a pending free agent, and at this time, it looks like the four-time Pro Bowler will hit the open market. Cousins has been Minnesota’s starting QB since 2018.
Daniels threw for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and four interceptions to go along with 1,134 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
