Huge news this week that actually had nothing to do with Deshaun Watson.
It involved the Miami Dolphins losing multiple draft picks as a result of the NFL’s investigation into allegations of tampering. The franchise is also forfeiting their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, and their third-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft, after the league found impermissible communications between the Dolphins and both Tom Brady and Sean Payton. Owner Stephen Ross was also suspended until October 17 and fined $1.5 million.
The investigation claims that the Dolphins had contact with Brady during multiple periods, which included when he was under contract with the New England Patriots, as well as more recently with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It was reported in April that the Dolphins attempted to add Brady as a minority owner who would then come out of retirement to play for them.
A league spokesperson told ESPN’s Jenna Laine that Brady won’t face any ramifications for speaking with Miami.
It was back in June when Brady was aked about the Dolphins rumors and he didn’t exactly refute them at the time.

To make things even crazier, the Buccaneers and Dolphins will conduct joint practices next week. The teams open their preseason against each other on August 13.
After leading the Bucs to a Super Bowl win and back-to-back playoff appearances, Brady is back in Tampa Bay for a third season in 2023 after a brief retirement earlier this offseason.
