Teams eyeing a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft might want to have the number of Arizona Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort on speed dial.
According to a report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Cardinals are happy with Kyler Murray as their quarterback. That means they’re willing to deal the No. 4 overall selection in next month’s NFL Draft:
“It’s very clear Murray is their guy. It’s always enjoyable to hear a coach sound like he’s in love with his quarterback. The Cardinals pick fourth in the draft, and some in the league believe they are open to trading back.”
Additionally, one NFL GM told Russini they think there “absolutely” could be all quarterbacks taken with the top four picks. The Chicago Bears (first), Washington Commanders (second) and New England Patriots (third) round hold the first three selections.
It’s widely assumed that the Bears will use the No. 1 selection on USC quarterback Caleb Williams, with the Commanders taking either North Carolina’s Drake Maye or LSU’s Jayden Daniels with the second pick.
If the Patriots take whoever remains between those three, the Cardinals would have the chance to select generational wide receiver prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. at No. 4. So yes, it’s going to cost a pretty penny for a team to move into the top-four.
