The end of Deshaun Watson’s Texans tenure seems like just a matter of time.
Deshaun Watson needs a lot to happen in order for him to stay in Houston and that would include the owner taking a hike.
On Sunday, Chris Mortensen reported that the disgruntled QB would not only want Easterby fired, but also owner Cal McNair as well.
“But sources close to Watson say this is bigger than firing Jack Easterby, the front office executive whom McNair says he won’t fire. He says — this source says — that unless Cal McNair can fire himself, Deshaun Watson is not about to change his mind that he does not want anything to do with the Texans going forward.”
McNair promised to include the three-time Pro Bowler in the process of filling the head coach and general manager vacancies left after Bill O’Brien was fired four games into the 2020 season.
Watson wasn’t consulted about the hiring of new general manager Nick Caserio and the team has made little to no effort to interview candidates that he spoke highly of.
