Talk of a Deshaun Watson trade has started to ramp up once again with the NFL’s trade deadline just over a week away.
The Miami Dolphins are reportedly atop the list of potential destinations for the Houston Texans quarterback, but a few other organizations are still in the mix, according to the latest report.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Carolina Panthers are the other team who are trying their hardest to obtain Watson.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared on Sunday that three other teams not named the Dolphins are still kicking the tires on a trade for Watson. He added that the Carolina Panthers, the Denver Broncos and the Philadelphia Eagles remain linked to the Texans quarterback. However, prior reports have stated that Watson wouldn’t waive his no-trade clause for the Eagles.
Here’s what else Rapoport had to say on the interest in Watson:
“Based on everything I’ve heard, the hope, the belief, the expectation is something will happen involving a trade and Deshaun Watson before Nov. 2,” Rapoport said. “There’s been plenty of false starts, plenty of rumors around this. So take this for what it is, the expectation is something will be completed by Nov. 2.

“Here’s where it stands: Multiple teams are still interested in trading for Deshaun Watson — I know there was a report earlier in the week about the Dolphins, they are not alone. Among the teams that have been discussed over the past several months, the Panthers, the Broncos, the Eagles and some others.
“His legal situation is still as of right now unsettled. Still, of course, the civil and criminal allegations of sexual misconduct. I’m told there are still teams interested in trading for him, despite the fact that this is still unsettled.”
CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported earlier in October that the Panthers were mulling a potential trade for Watson amid Darnold’s struggles as the starting QB. Those struggles followed him today and he got benched for it.
Darnold has been playing terribly since the Panthers opened the season 3-0.
The Panthers are now 3-4 and Dolphins are now 1-6. Both teams could really use a QB like Watson.
