Deshaun Watson has many reasons for not wanting to ever suit up for the Houston Texans again, but the biggest one appears to be the deterioirating relationship he has with owner Cal McNair.
SI’s Albert Breer joined the Toucher & Rich Podcast to discuss the Deshaun Watson situation and the speed bumps preventing Miami from making a decisive move.
“The owner and Watson freaking hate each other,” Breer said. “The owner hates Deshaun.”
Both parties clearly want a trade to happen, but Watson’s legal issues off the field drastically hurt things as teams are likely scared that the league will step in and either suspend Watson or place him on the Commissioners Exempt list to make sure he does not see the field in 2021.
Watson has been mentioned in countless trade rumors over the past few months.
According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans could have a trade that would send Watson to the Miami Dolphins done by this week.

“The Texans could finally be getting closer to trading quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Miami Dolphins — a team they play Nov. 7,” McClain wrote, via the Houston Chronicle. “Even though the NFL trading deadline isn’t until Nov. 2, a deal could go down this week, according to people familiar with the negotiations.”
Last season, Watson had 4,823 passing yards and 33 touchdowns for the Texans.
