Deshaun Watson hasn’t officially come out and said he wants to be traded, but his actions are showing that the young QB is done with the Houston Texans.
Watson is reportedly not returning the organization’s phone calls amid his displeasure with the franchise’s direction, according to ESPN’s Sarah Barshop.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter added on Monday that there is increasing belief within league circles that the Texans will be forced to trade Watson.
The relationship between the Texans and their star quarterback has been boiling since the team traded wideout DeAndre Hopkins. It has increased after owner Cal McNair lied about him having input in the GM and head coaching search.
The team went out and hired a GM without informing him about it like they said they would. The team also waited to contact head coaching candidates that Watson wanted well after other teams had already done so.
Watson put together an MVP-caliber 2020, throwing for 4,823 yards and 33 touchdowns against seven interceptions.
