Deebo Samuel is a man who wants to be paid for everything he does out on the field of play.
He apparently wants to be the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL, according to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram.
At this moment, the NFL’s highest-paid non-quarterback currently is Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who’s earning an average of $30 million per season.
You could make an argument that Samuel was by far the most valuable non quarterback during the 2021 season. Without him, the 49ers do not win the number of regular-season games they do or even sniff the NFC Championship game.
He had a breakout third season in San Francisco. He caught 77 passes for 1,405 yards and rushed 59 times for 365 yards. He also scored 14 total touchdowns and established himself as one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL.
It would be best for the 49ers to pay him now and front-load his contract while giving him lots of guaranteed money in 2023 and 2024 when Lance will still be on his rookie contract.

If Samuel has anything close in 2022 to what he had in 2021, the contract he wants is going to be monumental.
