The 2017 running back draft class is GETTING PAID!!!
Earlier in the summer it was guys like Christian McCaffery and Joe Mixon securing the bag with big extensions from the Panthers and Bengals, respectively. Then, today we saw Alvin Kamara get $75-mill over 5 years. And now it’s Dalvin Cook’s turn, as the former second round pick was rewarded for his strong play in 2019 with a 5-year, $63-million deal.
According to ProFootballTalk, the deal includes $28-million in injury guarantees and has a new money average of $12.3 million. Cook was set to make just $1.3-million this season with his original deal.
In 14 games last season, Cook had 1,135 rushing yards, 519 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns.
