Dan Le Batard has had one of the most popular shows with ESPN for several years, but that does not make him exempt from possibly being pushed out at the network as part of a big shakeup.
Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported the eventual exit of Dan Le Batard along with the “imminent’ departure of Will Cain to Fox News.
“As for Le Batard, he still has more than a year left on his contract, but there is a feeling among many that his program does not mesh with the tastes of Norby Williamson, who is ESPN’s executive vice president and the point person on ESPN Radio’s programming. Le Batard does more of a variety show rather than strictly sports.”
It was back in July 2019 when Le Batard criticized the network openly for not allowing personalities to discuss politics and promptly condemned President Donald Trump for his lack of response to racist chants by his supporters at a rally.
24 hours later, Le Batard was absent from the first hour of this weekday three-hour radio show.
Le Batard makes an estimated $3.5 million per year.
