On Monday, it was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Vikings running back Dalvin Cook will reportedly be out of any team-related activities until he receives a “reasonable” deal.
“Without a reasonable extension, he will not be showing up for camp or beyond,” a source told ESPN.
ESPN’s Courtney Cronin then added Cook is seeking a contract north of what Christian McCaffrey got this offseason.
It was two months ago when McCaffrey was able to finalize a multi-year extension with the Carolina Panthers that saw him get a 4-year deal that is worth $64 million, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history.
Cook is coming off a season in which he had 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2019. Both those stats were career bests.
He is also entering the final year of his rookie contract and wants some assurance beyond 2020.

On top of his rushing stats, Cook proved to be threat in the passing game, catching 53 passes for 519 yards.
