Dak Prescott doesn’t need a historic contract from the Cowboys, but he would love to get something that shows the team wants him around for years to come.
A new report came out this week that the Dallas Cowboys quarterback had seemingly changed his mind about his contract and is now looking to break the bank after Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to a jaw-dropping five-year, $275 million extension this week.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Prescott is seeking a whopping $60 million per year.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday, Dallas Cowboys insider Clarence Hill Jr. stated otherwise. He added that Dak could certainly get that on the open market, but he has not approached the Cowboys and demanded such a number.
“Dak Prescott has not asked for $60 million from the Cowboys. That is what he possibly could command on the market. Those are two different things. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk,” Hill wrote.

Prescott could be looking for a significant payday as Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow both make $55 million per year.
The dynamic passer signed his last deal ahead of the 2021 season, meaning he’s looking at free agency after this season if he and the Cowboys cannot come to terms on a new deal.
Last season, according to ESPN.com, Dak set a new career high for completions as he threw for 4,516 yards and an NFL-leading 36 touchdowns.
Questions Continue To Surrond Dak Prescott’s Lack of Playoff Success
