The Dallas Cowboys had every opportunity in the world to win the NFC East, but they were just atrocious on the defensive end of the ball. the defense was so bad that Defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and defensive line coach Jim Tomsula found their way off the team just a few weeks ago.
Last season, the 6-10 Cowboys allowed the most points in franchise history and finished 31st in the league in run defense.
According to Patrik Walker of CBS Sports, the Cowboys are looking for a major upgrade and they have not ruled out signing cornerback Richard Sherman. The five-time Pro Bowler was limited to just five games in 2020 due to an early-season injury.
Sherman is not nearly the player he used to be as he has missed 21 games in the last four seasons after he didn’t miss a single contest in his first six years.
Even still, when you are a team that finished 23rd in yards per game (31st vs. the run, 11th vs. the pass) and 28th in points, then you can’t simply pass up on a talent like Sherman.
The NFC East isn’t exactly glowing with talented teams as we all witnessed this past season as an under .500 Washington Football Team qualified for the playoffs.
