The Dallas Cowboys are on tap to make a ton of team-changing moves this offseason, and it’s more than just the talks surrounding Amari Cooper.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys gave offensive tackle La’el Collins permission to seek a trade.
“Dallas has given permission to starting RT La’el Collins to seek a trade, according to his new agent Peter Schaffer,” Schefter said. “Dallas needs cap room and Collins was scheduled to make $15.25 million this season. Likely to be released if no trade.”
Collins joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent following the 2015 NFL draft and became an immediate impact player for the squad.
However, his career has been turned upside down the past two years after he suffered a season-ending injury during the 2020 campaign and then received a five-game suspension in 2021.
This is truly a ‘what have you done for me lately’ league and it appears the Cowboys are ready to move on from Collins.
